First Year Advising & Registration

Welcome Class of 2027! We are so excited that you have chosen to be an Eastern Warrior! This page will walk you through all the steps you should take in order to get registered for your first semester at Eastern.

  • Commit to being a Warrior! Deposits must be submitted by May 1, 2023 to reserve courses and residence hall space. The University reserves the right to return deposits received after enrollment capacity has been reached. View step-by-step instructions for paying your deposit(s).

Students living on campus: $450 non-refundable tuition and housing deposit.

Students living off campus: $200 non-refundable tuition deposit.
  • The First Year Preference Survey is open now through May 28, 2023. The survey will allow us to get to know you better in order to build you the best schedule possible.

The survey will cover things like:

    • Which First Year Introduction courses are you most interested in?
    • What is your preferred time of day for taking courses?
    • Would you rather have your courses scheduled back-to-back or with breaks in-between?
    • Are you transferring in Advanced Placement (AP) or Early College Experience (ECE) courses?
    • Are you interested in minors, double majors, or still figuring out the best academic path for you?
  • At Eastern, all students must complete a College level math course and a College writing course within their first year. In order to determine your placement in either course, you can:

    • Submit your SAT or ACT scores to Eastern. Even if you did not send your scores with your application, these scores may be used for placement purposes. Scores should be requested directly from the testing site (ex: CollegeBoard), and submitted to the Admissions Office. Submitting standardized tests scores after acceptance will not impact your admissions decision.
    • Take a math and/or writing placement exam. If you are required to take a math and/or writing placement, you will be notified via your Eastern email account. Don't forget to check your email regularly!
  • SOAR (Student Orientation, Advising and Registration) is a two-day, on-campus orientation program in the summer designed to introduce all new first-year students to life on campus.

Visit the Orientation page and select First-Year Students for detailed information and to register to attend a SOAR Session. You must submit your non-refundable tuition deposit prior to reserving a SOAR date.

SOAR Dates: June 20-21, June 22-23, June 26-27, and June 29-30.

  • All schedules will be ready on June 9, 2023. You will receive an email to your Eastern email account alerting you that your schedule is ready. This email will also include instructions for how to view your schedule in your eWeb account.

  • Have questions about your schedule? Need to make changes? No problem! You will have the chance to meet with an advisor during SOAR to review and finalize your fall schedule.
  • Make sure your final high school transcript as well as any Advanced Placement exam scores and transcripts for college-level courses are submitted to the Office of Admissions as soon as possible.
